Heather's Nov 2008 Report
A lot has changed for the Patterson's since the last update. We
have chosen a name for our baby girl, Bevin Marie (although Gudrun
was a close second). My doctor has scheduled to induce on Dec.
10th, but he doesn't really think we will make it that long. So
my bags are packed and we are trying to get all our christmas
shopping done early. Mom is planning on coming to help us out
after Thanksgiving, so we are hoping Bevin waits at least that
long to come.
We have moved back to Alabama and are currently looking for a
house in the Madison/Athens area. We are very excited about our
relocation. We have found one house that we really like that is
out in the country and has a ton of space. It has a lot of
potential, but is, as our realtor calls it, "cosmetically
challenged". But it does have a hot tub and has a huge
shop/garage that will make all you men jealous.
Jeff is settling in to his new job, but he says it is taking a lot
of getting used to. His last job was in a very small office with
only one other person, and he was able to work from home a lot of
the time. Now he is in a large office building in a secure area.
He can't even bring his own cell phone into the office.
Keller has been growing like crazy and is enjoying being in
Alabama. He gets to spend more time with family, and we have some
friends in town who have a little boy that he really enjoys
playing with. We're not real sure he understands about the baby,
but we talk about it a lot and he seems excited. Half the time
when we ask him where the baby is he points at my belly and half
the time he points at himself.
Merry Christmas to everyone, we miss you all like crazy!! We will
have another update soon with a picture of both Keller and Bevin.
Heather's Nov 13, 2007 Report
Well everyone, the Patterson family is doing quite well. We
had a great Halloween, with Keller dressed up as a puppy. We went
to about 5 houses in the neighborhood, which Keller thought was
great, but his favorite part was answering the door for all the
kids who came to the house.
We've had a very busy summer, with road trips to Georgia and
Alabama, and we are looking forward to going to Florida for
Thanksgiving. Recently Jeff and Keller went to the Patterson's
for a long weekend while Kristin, Kyra and Courtney came to visit
me. We spent 5 hours shopping at the Christmas craft fair!!
Which we never would have been able to do if we had boys with us.
We are still on the job search for Jeff. We have been looking
all around the southeast, but mostly we would like to move a
little closer to family. Kristin has been helping, by finding
lots of jobs in the Jacksonville area. At the same time Sharon
has been helping by finding plenty of jobs in Northern Alabama.
We haven't ruled anything out (except Atlanta of course). Sorry
David and Kim.
We are really looking forward to the Holidays, and seeing many
of you. We wish we could visit everybody.
Love, Heather Jeff and Keller
Heather's December 05 Report
Well Jeff and I finally did it, we bought a minivan. It took a
while to convince Jeff that we needed one, but a 10 hour trip to
Alabama in the Kia with two adults, two dogs and one baby did the
job. Jeff wanted everyone to know that he fought a long, valiant
fight, but he finally realized that the minivan was a good choice.
I guess the next step will be to join the PTA and a book club. The
van is a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. It is green, and has tons of
space. Jeff actually fits in it comfortably, which is a huge step
up from the Kia. It even has a DVD player, so we can watch a movie
while we drive!
Thanksgiving was a fun holiday for us. As we mentioned above,
we traveled to Alabama to Jeff's parents' place, and we had a good
visit with the family there. Everyone is doing well, and they were
all enamored with how much Keller had changed since they had seen
him last. Alex had grown quite a bit himself, and he ended up
giving Keller and us a bug of some kind, and we all have been a
little under the weather ever since.
Keller seems to be growing like a weed. He is a very happy
baby, and has a great demeanor. He even smiles at us when he's
fussing. We are looking forward to every one getting to meet him
over Christmas, and getting to meet the most recent additions to
the family we haven't met yet.
Heather's May 21 Report
Jeff and I have been enjoying the great weather here in
Charlotte, and have been getting out and about a lot. Jeff has
taken up disk golf, and goes to the course about 3 or 4 times a
week now. From his account he is improving everyday. He has
also found a nice driving range where he has been working on his
golf swing (regular golf). We will be going on a mini vacation
over the Memorial Day weekend with the Patterson family, and all
the men will be going on their annual golf trip, where the loser
is teased for the next three years or so. Apparently Joe has
been getting more practice lately and Jeff decided he needed to
work on his craft. We have also been getting out in our canoe a
lot, and have found a real nice, small lake that suits our speed
just right. We brought the dogs on our first trip, which proved
to be a bit of a problem. Ruby did fine, but Monty seems to
suffer from motion sickness, quite severely. She also jumped in
the lake, which she immediately regretted. We left the dogs at
home for the other trips we went on.
That's been about it for us lately, other than getting ready
for baby. We got our crib and set it up, we also got our high
chair and stroller, we are waiting until after the baby shower
to get anything else. I think we have decided on Keller Graham,
but its not in stone yet. Hope all is well with everyone else,
and look forward to reading everyone's updates.
Heather's May 17 Report
Well, Jeff and I don't really have anything exciting going on.
Ruby and Monty are as cute as ever, and are really enjoying their
daily walks in the new neighborhood.
Monty is getting pretty big, and it looks like she'll be
bigger than Ruby soon. She finally seems to have caught on to the
house training idea, but still has accidents every once in a
while. Now we're working on her manners.
Jeff and I bought our canoe a while ago and have been very
anxious to get it out on the water, unfortunately we have to wait
for our tax return before we can get the gear we need. Not that
we've had much chance to get out, we've had the most beautiful
weather here, except for the fact that it rains every Saturday and
Sunday.
That's really about all that's going on with us, Jeff is working at
home most of the time, and I'm addicted to sudoku. The rest of
our time is consumed by dogs. I have been feeling really well,
and have recently started feeling Keller kick.
We hope all is well with all of you and are looking forward to
the updates!!
Heather's Jan 8 Report
In addition to the baby update, Heather sent some
additional info ... Heather and Jeff are moving to a condo.
Her report:
We checked out the condo and really liked it. Its slightly
cheaper on rent, but a lot bigger, with tons of closets and
storage. We'll be moving in on March first, but we're going to try
to get in and paint first. You would not believe the colors in this
house! The down stairs is circular, living room to dining to
kitchen and around. In that space we have bright pink, bright blue,
neon green, brown, and intense orange. With the doorways painted a
different color! The bedroom is such an intense yellow, I don't
think we could ever get to sleep in there. Since the house is empty
now, we should be able to start working with it now and moving in
slowly over the next couple of months. We haven't started packing
or anything, we don't want to stress out Ruby. She got another
ultra-sound yesterday, five Puppies!! We actually got a little
ultra-sound picture this time, it looks like a bunch of shadows. So
get ready to take home your little puppy in about 9 weeks!!

Heather's Report ...
from November
Well, this is quite possibly the first official update that I
have submitted to the mccoyusa website, and of course its late.
I think I'm going to pawn this responsibility on to Jeff.
Well, here's the news.
Jeff has gotten a job in Charlotte NC, so we're heading up that
way soon. He'll be working for Navteq, the company that
provides the data for map quest, yahoo maps, and the onstar
systems. We went up there this past week and found a house
to rent. We really enjoyed the city, with all the
things there are to do, and particularly the many dining choices
we now have. (those of you who have visited us in
Jacksonville know what I'm talking about.) We found a really
cute older house near downtown, and we can't wait to get into it.
We'll be moving in on July 1st. I haven't found a job yet,
but I don't think it will take too long to find one. I will
probably get some contract work from the archaeology lab that I'm
working for now, so that will keep me busy and give me the
opportunity to be a little more picky about what I take.
So thats our news. We forgot to bring a camera, so we
don't have a picture of our house. But Jeff took some
pictures of the blue ridge parkway with his phone.

Heather and Jeff are now living in Huntsville AL. Jeff has
a new job. Heather is taking time off to have her new baby.
Roemer has it that she already has a job offer when she's ready to go
back to work.
